Welcome to my Blog!

Hello and welcome to my blog!

This is where I’ll be sharing my thoughts, ideas, and knowledge about intuitive eating, self-care and personal growth.

I became a Registered Dietitian so I can teach and help others about the importance of the food we eat and that we can (sometimes) prevent diseases and conditions. What I have learned though over the years, is that food and nutrition are just one aspect of health and some of the time diseases and conditions are genetic and cannot always be prevented. We can try to do our best to eat nutritious foods and move in ways we enjoy and are good for us, but we can’t always control our health outcomes. There are also other aspects we can work on that impact our health – such as social health, mental health, and spiritual health.

I learned about intuitive eating after I graduated from school. At first, I was hesitant (as many are at first since it is so different than what we are taught and what we grew up knowing). However, the more I researched and learned about this approach, the more I realized the truth behind it.

Intuitive eating incorporates all aspects of health – not just food and exercise. Trying to have a balance in all aspects of our lives is important and contributes to health. Intuitive eating focuses on behaviors that we can control, rather than a number on the scale that we do not have full control over. It helps us rediscover the innate wisdom we are born with – the ability to tune in and recognize what our bodies need.

I look forward to sharing more about intuitive eating and health on my blog!
