So you know you don’t want to restrict.
You don’t want to exercise vigorously.
Maybe you can’t even find time to do any exercise – or as I like to call it: joyful movement or just movement.
So what are some practical ways to feel better without dieting and restricting?
Here are some ideas:
- Add a fruit or vegetable to your meals/snacks
- Drink an extra glass of water
- Walk or do another form of movement for 5-10 minutes. Any movement is better than none!
- Set alarms to check in and make sure you are eating every 2-3 hours, so you are not hungry
- Go to bed a little earlier than usual if you are not getting enough sleep
- Prepare a nourishing meal or snack for yourself
- Meditate/breath/daven for 5 –10 minutes
You might be thinking that some of these are not food or exercise related. That is because I believe that food, nutrition and physical movement are only one part of our health. We want to try to improve in different aspects of our health for authentic complete health. That includes:
- Physical health
- Emotional health
- Spiritual health
Also, if we are lacking in some areas of our health, it is harder to stay in tune with our physical sensations of hunger and fullness. We are also likely to cope with our emotions with food more often if we don’t have other ways to deal with our emotions.
What is one thing you will choose to focus on this week?
Let me know! I would love to hear from you!
